My mom Hattie Stretz was the sole survivor. Nine people shot in two minutes. Eight dead. Many friends of mine.

Laura was my best friend, the maid of honor at my wedding, she was godmother to my children.

Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her with an ache in my heart.

My family’s lives were forever changed that day.
