“I was 17 years old when my Mother Patricia Ann Geddis was shot and killed by her live in boyfriend in front of my three sisters who were 10, 11 & 12. That left four daughters for my Granny to raise.

The middle daughter who saw our mother murdered had one child, a daughter who was doted on by the whole family. On Memorial Day weekend 2014, Sandy, her cousin and friends drove to Myrtle Beach for the day to see what Black Bikers week was like. After being on the beach for under three hours a fight broke out and the boys started shooting at each other and the crowds of people that were running away. My niece Sandy PaTrice Geddis Barnwell was hit by a random bullet in the forehead and died with the exact same injury in the same place as our mother had years before. Sandy was taken along with DeVonte Dantzler, 21 a few days before he went to the beach and his mother's only child and Jaime Williams, father of 3 small children who will never know their father.

Keith Williams was also shot five times but lives with multiple organs still affected. To date their have been NO arrests although there was thousands of people on the beach. Sandy lived in my home 12 of her 22 years. We will not rest until there is justice for Sandy. So I must speak for her. My mother and my niece will not be forgotten. Their lives nor their deaths will be in vain. We will stop gun violence!”
